Trade Gothic Font

Trade Gothic was initially created in 1948 by Jackson Burke who was in charge of type development at Linotype in America. Throughout the 1940s, Burke kept adding weights and styles to the family, finishing off much of the development by 1960.
Whereas most other sans serif families attempt to be aligned strictly, the Trade Gothic family has a touch of ruggedness. It is a little touch that imparts a more natural, human touch to the font that contrasts a cool perfection of sans serif fonts like Helvetica or Univers.
Even after many years since its launch Trade Gothic still remains a popular typeface in sans serif category. It works perfectly well in advertising with the support of roman fonts as to assist in form, but its compressed designs attained iconic status in the newspaper industry where the compacted yet bold headings were so basic.
