Bank Gothic Font
Bank Gothic font was designed in 1930 by Morris Fuller Benton for the American Type Founders. Built on clean geometry and sharp corners, it captures the industrial mood of early modern design. Its square letterforms echo the mechanical style and Bauhaus influence that defined much of the era’s architecture and typography. The font’s sharp precision and engineered symmetry made it a natural fit for signage, corporate branding, and later, the futuristic aesthetics of science fiction and technology.
While originally limited to uppercase, its modern revivals by Bitstream and others have expanded the range with lowercase and multilingual support. Bank Gothic’s technical structure and clean proportions lend it a timeless, mechanical tone—ideal for film titles, product branding, and user interfaces that need a bold, space-age look.
