Amasis Font
Amasis by Ron Carpenter is a slab serif that breaks from the usual geometric construction; it’s drawn with a humanist approach instead. The design has ties to the Ionics but feels distinctly late twentieth-century in character. Rather than going with sloped romans or cursive forms, the italics relate more to Old Style italics, which is an unusual choice for a slab serif. Ron designed it to work well at small sizes where readability matters, and it’s proven particularly good for low-resolution printers and fax transmissions.
